Monetary Donations
Monetary donations are accepted and appreciated. At this time all donations must be made in person or can be mailed to 212 West Third Street. Alturas, CA 96101.
Donations of Books and Media
The library accepts donations of books, DVDs, music CDs and audiobooks. We do not accept encyclopedia sets, most textbooks, VHS tapes, items that are full of dirt, bugs or rodent feces, or items that are water-damaged or moldy.
Please be aware that not all donated materials will be added to the library collection. Donations become the property of the library to be used as needed and are subject to the same selection criteria as purchased materials. Those that are not added to the collection may be offered to the Friends of the Library to sell at The BookWorm or a local branch book sale. Proceeds from these sales help to fund library services.
